Another Obama legacy is over. From the Paris Climate Accord, to the Trans Pacific Trade agreement, to the Obamacare Individual Mandate, then Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – now it’s the controversial Iran Deal. Poof – it’s almost as if Obama was never here.
The world is seemingly in an uproar over President Trump’s announcement this week that we are withdrawing from the Iran Deal.

My senator, the ever so divisive and bitter Tim Kaine of Virginia posted his outrage and predicts Armageddon as a result. Naturally, this brings out the emotional debate the predictable “we were just giving Iran their money back” argument.
That argument is FALSE. It’s an argument the weak use to justify the clandestine manner by which President Obama and Secretary Kerry went about funding Iran in order to release 5 Americans. Oh, and to release the sanctions. Let’s not forget that.

But let’s just focus on the cash for now.
In a debate with one particular (and apparently vehement supporter of Iran), facts don’t matter when the legacy of Obama is at stake. Well, you know the rejoinder to facts and feelings so I won’t use that diatribe here, but let me tell, the fastest way to shut down a conversation is name calling. Weak and ineffective, but apparently out of the “I lost and I’m pissed” groupthink playbook.
One woman went so far as to say a pallet drop of cash in the middle of the night was the “safest way to transport $400 million dollars“. Are you even kidding me.

What Patricia Hamill (and countless others who continue to push this narrative) really mean to say is: “I am a parrot and live in an echo chamber, and that’s just okey dokey with me. I take my news the same was as my cocktails: dressed up with a cute little umbrella and an orange wedge.”
Here’s my response. If you disagree, tell me why. I want to hear from you.
@Patricia Hamill – you really believe that? The “safest way to transport 400 million dollars” was to fly unmarked currency in an unmarked plane and air drop it to the Taliban (oh sorry, to Tehran leadership). Do you also think it was okay that Obama hid that until reporters investigated? The only reason to give cash was to allow Iran to fund their terrorism, which would not have been possible if the funds had been transferred (which The Hague authorized for the explicit purpose of settling terror claims.)
Let me guess you are also okay with the timing of the payout (aligning with our clemency of 7 Iranians awaiting trial for criminal violations and us dropping the warrants against 14 more Iranians) and the release of 5 Americans?
Did you know that Obama keeps spouting the “we simply are returning their money” but fails to mention the 1981 counterclaim from the US for $817M for Iran’s violations? In reality, Iran owed the US billions, not the other way around. One last thing – the money we held – the $400M was protected under Clinton’s Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (2000). It stipulated that this $400M could not be returned until court judgments against Iran for $ damages were resolved. Those judgments were never resolved. Sounds to me that Obama and Kerry broke the law – in addition to bypassing Congress.
Do you ever stop to question why our media glosses over that? If you liked this, be sure to like, share and subscribe for more.
